PART II

MUSIC & YOU

When did you become interested in music? What was the first album or single you ever purchased?

I have been a music lover for as long as I can remember. My first purchase was “Into the Dragon” by Bomb the Bass. Vinyl. Great album all over, and, it featured Megablast – the sound track to the video game Xenon 2 by Bitmap Brothers which I absolutely loved as well.

Are you in a band yourself, or have you been in a band in the past? Is there a file on YouTube or elsewhere we could watch?

I played the drums for 7 years and was in a band at one point but it didn’t amount to much. Later, I got into electronic music production when “soundtrackers” started to appear on the PC platform. These days, I toy around with Ableton Live.

Musical likes and dislikes? Favorite artists?

I like most kinds of music. I tend to listen mostly to electronic music and jazz. Currently, I listen mostly to Mikael Simpson, Trentemøller, Brad Meldau and Interpol. But it changes very frequently and I use all the suggestion engines like Pandora, Last.FM and Grooveshark  all the time just to be inspired.

If you had to name the song that moves you the most, what would it be? Can you pinpoint the reason why?

Well, “True Happiness This Way Lies” by The The, has stuck in my head since I first listened to it about 16 years ago. The lyrics really strike something in me – they always have.

Is there a song that – to you – captures the spirit of your startup and what you have set out to do? What would it be?

Haha well, any song full of excitement and energy I guess!

Thank you so much for your time, Kristian!
