The inaugural MidemNet Lab will take place at the MIDEM music conference in Cannes, France (23rd – 27th January 2010).
It will be the spot where the 15 best startups that bring digital innovation into the world of music will be highlighted. These have been voted by some of the key players in the industry – leaders of sites such as MySpace, Spotify and Seesmic opined on which startups should be featured.

As you can see, the whole world is mapped out – there are quite a few startups from the UK (including BandCentral, the one I reviewed the month I started MusicKO – check the review here), France (Awdio), the US (Band Metrics and Kickstarter) and even Vietnam (Pops Worldwide). I will keep you posted on what is unveiled at the event, and I will also try and feature/interview as many of these companies as I can so that you can learn more about them, and realize why they have earned a place at the lab. In the meantime, congratulations to everybody.
